New local methods of analysis of the magnetic properties

Studies of the magnetic properties nano-objects and nano-systems are generally carried out on macroscopic samples. Results of the measurements taken on assemblies of nano-objects, multi-layer systems of several hundreds of micron, etc. are modeled in order to determine the local characteristics of only one object, an interface etc…
One of the objectives of the “nMatMag” activity is to develop local methods for analyzing magnetic properties at the nanometer scale. They aim is to establish direct local correlations between magnetic properties and structural properties.

These “new” methods all are of the techniques derived from the MET, two rise from the Electron Energy Loss Spectroscopy (EELS): EMCD, L3/L2 and the last is an interferential method in MET: holography.
