This book published by Editions Hermann demonstrates the close collaboration between materials science and social sciences conducted in three laboratories CEMES, LISST-CERS and LPCNO. What does mean "see" the invisible? Artists and researchers have here the construction of a new "visual thinking", halfway between seeing and knowing.

This well illustrated book, published in November 2011, reports some of the questions and discussions held during an international symposium and an exhibition at La Fabrique of the University of “Toulouse II Le Mirail” in December 2010 .
