Abstract:
Following the very successful workshops in Lake Tahoe, Leukerbad, Port Ludlow, Guadeloupe, GrundIsee and Banff, the next international workshop on EELS, electron energy loss spectroscopy and imaging, will be held in Sainte-Maxime, France, May 26-31 2013.

Virginie Serin et Bénédicte Warot-Fonrose, spectroscopists in CEMES, are in charge of the local organisation. The workshop will use a Gordon Conference-style format, with a mixture of scientific sessions and free time for informal discussions and recreation (http://www.energyloss.com).

The topic of this workshop is EELS spectroscopy as implemented in a transmission electron microscopy. The more advanced aspects of these techniques, both in terms of instrumental developments and applications in materials science and life sciences, will be discussed and presented through invited presentations and contributed talks or posters.

The program of symposia and invited speakers are available on the site: http://www.edge2013.cemes.fr/.
Abstracts can be submitted from 15 December 2012 to 15 February 2013. Registration is open from 15 December 2012 to 1 April 2013.
