If we define human cognition as the acquisition of knowledge and understanding of the world through experience and the senses, how do machine learning, evolution, development, adaptation and creation fit into generative artificial systems?

Artificial Life is a field of research that seeks to design systems that exhibit properties of the living.

Based on the theoretical computer mechanisms used to simulate these properties, we will attempt to illustrate them through a number of international research projects, ranging from evolutionary robotics to the design of artificial systems from evolutionary robotics to synthetic biology – artificial creations versus human cognition.
